I found that I was spending a lot of money on coffee from Starbucks so I decided to set up my very own coffee bar in my home. I'm an iced latte drinker so I splurged and got a Delonghi Espresso machine ($1500 retail). I got it from a garage sale for $250! I got two packages of wood shingles from the Home Depot and starting painting and staining in all different shades and colors. I nailed them into the Sheetrock, not the studs, as they were so light they didn't need the studs. I used large flat head 1.5" nails wood nails. From floors to ceiling and one full day of work, my coffee bar was done! I added some syrups and made a shelf out of rope and 2x12" hunks of wood.
This was the spot before I started. Perfect place for a coffee bar!

This used to be my computer area, right in the living room. Decided to move the computer upstairs and start my coffee bar right here.
These are the pieces of wood I stained and painted. I used all different sizes, cutting the wood with a small 7" hand circular saw.
Added more and more pieces of wood
And more
I went all the way to the ground
I built this shelf with pieces of 2x12" wood. Very heavy wood. Largest rope I could find was 1.5". I drilled holes in the corners of the wood. I shoved nails through the rope below the holes to level it properly.
Here is my setup
Syrups and powders
The finished result. I couldn't be happier!!! The buffet table is from a previous project.

Theresa Horan on Feb 13, 2017I love that you knew what you wanted and went after it. Sometimes we don't need a "room of our own" but just our own coffee bar set up! Good for you!

When we moved into our new home in 2013, our coffee station was set up before anything else was moved in! :) Yours looks great as well!
