Make a Tray Out of an Old Fence Piece W/ Unique Tree Branch Handles

30 Minutes
Easy
I like a centerpiece on the table but removing the decor when the family needs to use the table is inconvenient. Here is a rustic solution that has many uses. I've had an old fence around and have made several home accents from it. The wood used here is also from my old fence.
Adorned with candles and a natural holly bush branch. Now I can just grab the whole tray to move my decorative centerpiece instead of each piece separately.
Starting with this. I used a table saw to cut the fence section down to fit on a coffee table or the dining table.
I covered the wood in a sheer metallic paint. While the paint dries. Cut a tree branch down into two 5 inch pieces. Drill a pilot hole in each on both ends. I also scraped the edges with a razor blade so the paint didn't look so "new".
Use four 3 inch wood screws to attach the branches as handles. I used a roll of tape as a spacer.
Natural handles add the the earthy/rustic style that I love.

@Marla Rafuse I was at a local lumber store (not a big box store) and snooped out back. A 6 foot fence section was thrown out back like garbage. I shopped at this store a lot so I asked the guys that knew me best. They even helped me strap it to my truck. They would have cut it for me if I would have asked nicely. You never know.
