We renovated our master bathroom in 2015 - on television on the DIY Network show Renovation Realities. But ever since that redo, I wanted to get rid of the standard door that takes up so much room inside the bathroom.

This is the outside of the bathroom door as it looked before we removed it and added new double sliding doors.

We orginally bought these doors to use for the bathroom as sliders, but they were too small and too wide for the space. We only paid $15 for both of them at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore - so no big deal not to use them for this project.

This was my inspiration for the design - they cost over $1,000! I wanted frosted glass and the doors needed to be smaller to slide over and cover a standard sized door. I showed these to my hubby (who has some mad DIY skills) and he got to work making them.

He used reclaimed wood (he has a source to buy it) and made the door frames, open for the glass or Plexiglass.

We opted for frosted Plexiglass - ordered from Home Depot in large sheets, but he cut them to the right size and framed them in each door.

The inside of the door is on the left, with the Plexiglass framed in and the right side shows the outside of the door - the view that will be from our master bedroom.

We purchased the sliding rail online, and installed the doors - also installed sliders for the bottom of the doors to keep them from lifting out.

We added handles on both sides and a latch to lock the doors together and done!

They were installed on the sliding rail above the doors and a guide on the bottom. Handles were added and a hook to lock them inside - when needed.

I love them! They brighten up the bathroom, match the new bathroom with the reclaimed wood - perfect addition to our master suite!

Another view to the doors - just slightly open! The frosted Plexiglass provides the perfect privacy - you can't see through it at all! Thanks for viewing my project!
