DIY Yarn Wreath With Twine Flowers

I had so much fun recently making twine flowers that I decided to make some to add to a new yarn wreath for my dining room.

I didn't just use twine flowers on this - I had a variety of flowers to decorate it with, including a fake hydrangea, some paper flowers, and a burlap flower. Take what you have with some yarn you have, and see what decorative wreath you can create! These really are simple to make - even if you feel like you aren't the crafty type!

Materials needed to make your own Yarn Wreath with Twine Flowers

Styrofoam wreath or Straw wreath

Yarn - I used Lion Homespun Yarn

Flowers to decorate with such as Hydrangeas or burlap flowers

Twine

Flower Loom to make your own twine flowers

First thing you need to do is wrap your wreath base in yarn. You will probably need to wrap it two times so that you don't see any underlying color of the wreath base. I had more plain tan (and cheaper) yarn on hand that I did the first row in - then I used my Lion Homespun brand for the final layer. Wrapping the wreath is the most time consuming process. But if you are like me, you can do this while curled up in front of your favorite TV show, and this will be a relaxing activity to turn your brain off.

After your wreath is wrapped in yarn, you then need to design how you want your flowers to be on the wreath. I lay them all out first, and then get out my glue gun and glue them each on to stay in place.
