Boring Brown to Beachy Beauty!

10 years ago I had a brand-new kitchen installed in my house in Florida, complete with concrete countertops. I LOVE the beach and was growing very tired of the brown on brown look. I've been experimenting with Unicorn SPiT for months and decided it was time to go for it!

Brown cabinets/counters
I cleaned everything with Krud Kutter, removed the doors and hardware, then started painting.
Yes, I need a new stove 😩
The doors removed, I mixed "Oyster" by BEHR with plaster of Paris and water. I painted two coats on everything.
Two coats on all of the doors and I was ready to start the counters.
Unicorn SPiT in random areas
I used my favorite shades of teals and blues with a bit of orange and yellow. I dropped on a bit of metallic pale gold for accent and to pick up on the metallic hardware/appliances (well, other than that awful stove!)
Blended and sprayed colors
I used a damp paint brush and my hands to move colors where I wanted them. Once I liked the overall look, I put teal unicorn SPiT in a spray bottle and squirted accents here and there.
Finished look!
After installling doors and hardware, I waxed the cabinets and put two coats of gloss oil based polyurethane on the counters.

Another area
I did the entire project in the evenings over four days and I'm thrilled with the results!

OMG, love it all. Beautiful. I would like to know what if special you cleaned the countertop with and did you have to sand it all?
