Faux Drawer With Fabric

I have a side table with a narrow shelf that was causing me some frustration. We use it for our playing cards and other little games, my daughters DS and notebook and pens. So you understand my frustration when you need one thing and need to move it all.
I had a sturdy box that I had saved for quite a while, knowing I would find good use of it. And I did...
For this project you will need a sturdy box (make sure it suits your space), paint (depending on fabric used), fabric, mod podge, and foam board.
I started by painting the box since I chose a chevron fabric and I could see through the white.
When dry, I cut my fabric to size and cut my fabric to easily wrap it around my box. Link at the bottom of the text, can be seen on Emily hometalk page, how to cover a box.
Next, I applied my mod podge to the box and carefully placed my fabric, making sure it was straight and smooth. For the inside I simply cut a piece of foam board to size and placed it. This way my box is extra sturdy in case someone decides to put something heavier.
I decided to embellish mine with a knob to make it easier to pull out.
And Voila! all our little goodies easily accessible. Love the mix of my different fabrics from the faux drawer to my magazine holders.
Enjoy

I made sliding "drawers" on my pantry shelves with low boxes. "I can see clearly now" all the canned goods - - soup, or beans for chili, etc. I <3 boxes! And it's my husband's pet peeve! :)
