DIY Geometric Wood Art

4 Materials
This geometric wood art is so much easier to create than you might imagine, and it looks so impressive hanging on your wall! If you like this, you can see more easy and affordable DIY projects on my blog!
I started with a piece of plywood that I had cut down to the size I wanted for my art (this will depend on the space you're hanging it in, obviously). I used 1X2 pine boards to create a frame around the edges of the plywood - I attached with wood glue to avoid any nail or screw heads on the front of my art.
I drew up a quick design of what I wanted it to look like - you can see the full blog post to get a photo of the design I used, or create your own. You likely won't stick exactly to your design as you get going and things need to be shifted, but it's good to have a starting point. I used a miter saw to cut down my boards to fit into the frame (don't know how? Let me teach you!) and I waited until I had all of my pieces cut and fit into place before I glued anything down, just in case things needed to shift (and they did!)
I used one of my scrap pieces of wood turned sideways as a spacer to help keep everything relatively uniform. I worked on one quadrant of the art at a time, and just slowly filled it in according to my design.
When it was all finished, I stained it and hung it up on the wall using a french cleat! It looks like an intimidating project but it's actually so simple and easy to tackle - I promise! You can see the full blog post for way more details on the nitty gritty of getting this done, along with the design I used as my starting point.
