Today, We're building a simple, sturdy dog house with a fun modern, coastal vibe. No special tools or materials needed, everything should be available eat your local home center.
Here are some basic dimensions to get you started. Most every cut from here is a cut-to-fit piece.
A straight edge and circular saw is a great way to break down plywood.
There's a 12" slope from the front to the back of the dog house
A jigsaw is an easy way to cur the door opening. Just measure your dog and add a few extra inches of clearance.
I added 2"x2" braces to the corners of the house to add strength.
1.5" finish nails were used to attach everything... along with construction adhesive.
Corner brackets were used to attach the top of the doghouse to the base.
Hinges were added to to the top so that it can swing open to be cleaned.
Flat blue paint makes for an awesome coastal look.
I used some pallet slats on the front and floor of the house to spruce things up!
Cedar shingles on the roof add to that coastal vibe. (quick note... mine are upside down. my bad :)

Rude people commenting on situations they know NOTHING about is the REASON folks get dogs!! Because people suck!! I think it's a lovely home, and I am sure your furbaby likes having his own private space. Just love it!!
