Clever Upcycle of Vintage Water Skis

I found these vintage wood water skis at a flea market about 4 years ago. I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I knew I HAD to have them. After recently re-painting my foyer in a beautiful beachy blue, my sweetheart made my vision come to life with a great upcycle of my awesome find!
Check it out!
The find! $10 at a flea market - about 4 years ago.
Some nautical rope cleats for "coat hangers" and larger rope cleats to hang the shelf from. Add some rope and voila!
Pretty unique, don't you think?
So in love with my beachy foyer!

We have a set of these wooden water skis and are teaching our grand-daughter to ski using them. Third generation to learn to ski with these.

@Carol B That's awesome! I learned on wood skis myself - but haven't used wood ones since I was a kid. Wonderful that you're passing that tradition down!
