How To Make Homemade Potpourri

Congrats! Valentine’s Day, Graduation and Mother's Day has come and gone… bad news your flowers are dying. Well no worries take your dried dying petals and make something that will last, potpourri! Once I learned how to do this I have been almost excited when my flowers “cross over.”

Take your dried flowers and begin to strip them and remove the petals from the stems.
In a mason jar add all of your petals, dried leaves and branches until it is 3/4 full.
Add 5-10 drops of essential oil or 1 Tsp of fragrance oil to the jar.
Now add 1/4 Tsp of cinnamon to the jar, replace the lid and shake well.
I added some silk leaves, real baby’s breath, glass stones and dyed epson salt for a cozy and inexpensive flower arrangement.

I love dryed flowers, particularly dryed roses. I make mine by drying rose pettels from my garden. I don't put any Aromatherapy oils, or anything else, in with the dryed pettels. I just turn them over, every now and again, to refresh the sent, and I find that is all that's need. I have considered mixing Aromatherapy oils in, as I am a lover of Aromatherapy oils, and use Aromatherapy oil burners, but I think it would be to overpowering with the perfume off the roses. I am elergic to any thing that has a high perfume contrate. Kay Adelaide Australia
