I picked up a vintage cedar chest from a seller who said it was her mothers growing up. It has a sweet removable shelf perfect for smaller things and load the chest with linens. It was called right away once I posted the before pictures by a gal wanting it in a fun turquoise under color but a neutral creamy white over tone. Here is what I did to achieve her vision.. full details can be found at my blog link soon.

I started with a base coat of fusion mineral paint in azure, a beautiful ocean blue then used Homestead House milk paint in limestone to layer over it once dried well. The milk paint was then sanded well to reveal the under color and sealed up with clear wax. To keep the vintage feel and tone down the turquoise a bit more, I added espresso wax to give dimension, depth and age. And finally for added durability I put a couple coats of Polyvine dead flat over to seal well.
The hardware was removed, cleaned well and left to dry then Fusion's ultra grip was applied to add stickability to such a shiny surface and after it dried 24 hours the azure paint was added dark wax was used on the hardware too.
