Recycled Salad Container Into a Bird Feeder

Upcycling and recreating everyday items can be fun for kids! This summer, don't throw out your fast food salad containers, instead, turn them into colorful and whimsical bird feeders!
This recycle project is one the kids will enjoy creating!
Begin by spray painting the containers a vibrant color. Make sure you chose a spray paint that's suited for plastics.
Punch holes on the four corners, and thread and tie long pieces of twine through each one.
Then, have your children string beads along the twine.
They can string the beads into a pattern or just randomly, it's totally up to them.
When each strand is beaded, tie all four ends onto a metal ring at the same time. Make sure your strands are level and that one isn't longer than the other one. This will effect how well it hangs.
Fill the salad container with your choice of birdseed and hang in an area that the bird feeders can be seen easily.
Sit back, and enjoy the beautiful pop of color.
It's fun to take the time with your child and observe the species of birds that use the feeders together.
We've had our bird feeders for about a year now, and they've survived many rain storms and adverse weather, and have retained their vibrancy very well.

I would bring it indoors on a windy day or all the seeds will be lost. Maybe add some weights to the bottom somehow.
