We needed a garden shed but didn't want to buy one so I made one out of old salvaged wood doors...Before I hung the doors I put six 8' poles in the ground with concrete. Then I hung them with hinges.
Then i hung shelves with wood I salvaged from dumpsters on wood piles from torn down homes. I also salvaged wood for the roof.
an example of old wood i used to make shelves.
Once the roof was on I added salvaged wood windows and other decorations.
We added flowering vines and other plants. This is one year later...
Suggested materials:
  • Doors   (Dumpster)
  • Windows   (Curb side)
  • Wood   (old torn down homes)

I have old doors I would love to use to make a shed, can you explain or take a picture of the poles used to hang the doors? and how they are hinged? I'm missing a mental picture of that step...Are they metal? galvanized? wooden posts like for a fence?

Love the work you've done, but I noticed that you are storing some power tools in this shed. Have you waterproofed it in some way? Where we live, the rain and humidity would kill the power tools.
