Our Bathroom Remodels-2013

We finally bought a house again. We are so grateful and feel blessed to own a home once again! So here is what we have been doing for the past two months...home ownership is a work in progress, or a money pit...or both, lol! We remodeled nearly the entire house (with the exception of the upstairs flooring). We were on a shoestring budget so we did a lot of the work ourselves.
We have had oil rubbed bronze, & antique brass/golds for the past 13 years so it was time for a change. We introduced more whites & grays, changed to nickel, pewter & stainless steel. I am IN LOVE with Rub-n-buff pewter & silver. I was able to reuse all of my old decorative items by just redoing them (which of course I love to do). I painted the cabinets using Maison Blanche Wrought Iron Vintage Furniture Paint. I used three coats & then topped it with Min-Wax Satin Water Based Rub On Poly, three coats as well. I added nickel hardware to the cabinets, new nickel plumbing faucets with white fixtures & new nickel tradition style light fixtures. We replaced the old while tile with granite "look" formica in gray tones, which I love, it came out beautifully! Here is link to the handles we purchased through www.handlesets.com by Schlage in the Brookshire style. We used Kohler Pennington sinks & American Standard Quentin Satin Nickel Single Post faucets. The vintage style of the Quentin is so lovely. We used The American Standard Cadet Pro Right Height Elongated Bowl Toilets. We have used Cadet toilets for 15 years now in all of our homes, they are the best. The demo was sooo labor intensive (tile counters were difficult to remove)...the big mirrors were very hard to get out and down the stairs. I am getting way too old for demo! This will likely be my last major remodel (I hope)! And now drum rolls please.....let the fun begin!
BEFORE: Powder Bath had banjo style white tile counters and oak cabinets. Modern style faucet & light fixture. White Vinyl Floor.

New satin nickel handles & hinges throughout house (was polished brass). See post above for where I purchased these.
These old oak TP holders left a huge hole in the cabinets so I ha a board cut & routed on the edge to size to cover.
