For the full details on this project including materials and specific amounts that I used to make my own glitter cactus soaps, be sure to check out the original tutorial at Soap Deli News blog here.
You will need two silicone molds for for this project. A cactus silicone mold and a rectangle silicone mold. You will also need both a clear and a white melt and pour soap base of your choice.

You will begin by making the cactus soap embeds for your glitter cactus soaps. To do this, you will first need to determine how much soap you need for each cactus you'll be making.

To figure out how much soap you'll need, cut the block of white melt and pour soap base into chunks. Then put enough chunks into a glass Pyrex measuring cup to fill at least one of the cavities of your cactus mold.

Heat the soap at reduced power in the microwave until melted. Then pour the melted soap base into one cavity of your mold.

Once the soap has hardened, remove the cactus shaped soap from the mold and weigh it using a digital scale. Take that weight and multiply it by the number of cactus soaps you'd like to make.

Now, using your digital scale, weigh out the amount of white soap base needed for the cactus soap embeds and cut the uncolored soap into chunks. Heat in the microwave until melted, then add a small amount of green soap colorant of you choice until desired color is achieved, mixing well to combine.

If you'd like to scent your soap base, multiply the amount of soap base needed for your cactus embeds by 3%. This will give you the amount of fragrance needed to scent your soap. Then simply weigh out the fragrance oil and stir into the melted soap base.

Next, pour the green soap into each of your mold's cavities. Allow to harden fully then remove from the mold and set aside.
Now, using the same method as with the cactus soap embeds, figure out how much soap you need to fill one cavity of your rectangle mold. Cut off 1/4th of the top of the bar. You will need to know how much 3/4th of a bar weighs and how much 1/4th of the bar weighs.

Multiply the weight of the 3/4th of a bar by the number of cactus soaps you are making. Now weigh out that number in the clear melt and pour soap base. Cut into chunks and melt.

Then scent and color the soap as desired. I colored my base blue.

Pour the melted soap into each of the rectangle mold's cavities until 3/4th of the way full. Then spritz the tops of the soap with rubbing alcohol to remove any air bubbles. Allow to cool and harden completely.
Once the soap in the rectangle mold hardens, spritz the soap with rubbing alcohol then sprinkle it with your choice of cosmetic glitters.

Spritz with rubbing alcohol again then place your cactus soap embeds into each of the rectangle mold cavities.
Multiply the weight of the 1/4th of a rectangle soap bar (that was determined previously) by the number of cactus soaps you are making. Now weigh out that number in the clear melt and pour soap base. Cut into chunks and melt.

Add fragrance, if using, and additional glitter to suit. Mix.

Then pour the clear melted soap into each of the rectangle mold's cavities until they are full. Dust with additional glitter if desired, then spritz the tops of the soap with rubbing alcohol to remove any air bubbles. Allow to cool and harden completely.
Once your glitter cactus soaps have hardened, you can add details with a bit of gold mica. Simply mix a small amount of gold mica with rubbing alcohol to form a paint. Then use a small craft paintbrush to paint highlights onto your glitter cactus soaps.
Once the mica has dried, remove the soaps from the rectangle mold and bevel the edges of each bar with a potato peeler. Now all that's left is to tightly wrap your glitter cactus soaps in foodservice film for personal use or gifting!
