Tile Mosaic Work on Side Paneling of Kitchen Island

Medium
I really enjoy working with broken ceramic tile. You can do so much with it when crafting. When I saw the sides of my kitchen island looking so blah, I knew I had to do something creative with it. With that said, I decided to create some tile work using colors central to my granite counter-top. It’s not difficult to remove if someday I should get bored and redo both sides again.
Level of difficulty was moderate. I used ordinary tile grout to adhere the tile and colored ceramic tiles and glass beads as accent pieces. I am a sucker for the visually appealing. Adding various textures, colors, and geometrics to your home really speaks volumes about your style and sass!
Here are the final results! I really do adore how this turned out. I get so many compliments when folks walk into my kitchen.
This is what it looked like before. Just plain and blah.

@Carolann, Where did you get enough broken pieces of tile to do such a large area? @Kerri, if you do your backsplash, pls post pictures!

I have this exact panel, next to the stove, in a remodel I'm working on. Thanks for the great idea. I love working with broken tile pieces too.
