Bathroom in our 1930's Reno had a pink tub, wallpaper on walls and ceilings, pink pedestal sink with no storage, and tile in grey and burgundy that made the small space feel small and confined.
Wallpaper from ceiling and walls the first thing to go. Using a steamer made the work much easier. Available online through Amazon.
Pink pedestal sink provided no storage and this was the main bathroom for three bedrooms so we went in search of a vanity 31" wide with good storage.
The pink tub and dated tile floor both required a lot of cleaning. We used a cleaning stone that removed residue and really got into the grout lines well. The tub was in good shape but we had to replace leaking faucets which did require a plumber. Otherwise the only thing we had to address was the color.
Masking around the tub and to protect wall tiles we were not painting was essential. Using an epoxy paint product designed for tubs and tile made by Rustoleum which is not easily removed made prep work important.
Tub and tile floor coated with two Coates of the epoxy paint. We chose white to brighten the room.
New vanity from clearance at Lowes with three pull out drawers for storage added.
The product used on the floor had great reviews. Easy to use and great results
New blinds, shower curtain and rugs complete the look. A coat of grey paint with primer on walls.
Old dated sconces easily taken down and replaced but medicine cabinet seen as more storage and kept.
Updated vanity and sconces provide light, storage and a more updated look.

and after.... with new shower curtain, blind and rugs in place.
A huge improvement addressing storage, lighting and brightening the rooms overall feel made this a huge success. The time on project was 4 days but only because there is a thred day cure time for the tub and tile paint.
Suggested materials:
  • Rustoleum tub and tile paint, new sconces, vanity update, and new shower curtain and rugs. Scouring stone was the most useful cleaning tool.   (Tub and tile paint purchased online at Amazon but all other supplies purchased at local hardware store.)

It went from out dated to drab and dark. I like how you updated tub and new vanity is great. But lighting and your drab shower and window coverings and rugs make it old looking
