Humidor for a Cabin

by Carol G
I found this little humidor at an estate sale, it wasn't in very good shape, so I decided to experiment a little with a wooded scene and distressing. Please let me know what you think? I am not sure if I am totally happy with the outcome.

After cleaning it, I painted it with a grey chalk paint.
I stenciled a wooded scene on all four sides with a darker grey
Then I highlighted some of the lines on the table

I am kind of thinking about doing it over Marion, it just isn't what I wanted. I did like the wooded scene on it. what would you think about redoing the bottom in the original as will as the top and leaving the box alone? thank you for your help.

Boy, are you a worker bee! I'd really think about redoing it. It is very nice and you may have a special spot where you want to put it . I just like dark wood and get my zip from pics, pillows and other "stuff". I think redoing the top and bottom would focus attention on the scene and make it look like an inlay. But it might create a lot of colour contrast between the middle and the top/bottom. Then you might have to darken the white raised parts to integrate it??? I wouldn't be hasty changing it.
