Scooping out pumpkin guts....what a sticky mess! No more with these ideas AND they last forever!
I used foam pumpkins for three of these ideas. You can purchase them at any craft store and for 50% off with coupons.
Foam pumpkins are a flat color. To make them more realistic, paint the ribs of the pumpkins a dark brown. Dry brush the same dark brown paint onto the flat parts of the pumpkins.
For the first idea, we are making a faux succulent planter.
To remove the top of the pumpkin, punch holes using a screwdriver.
Take a utility knife and cut around the top, from hole to hole.
Remove the top and some of the foam.
Trim the stem of your faux succulent to fit.

Add Spanish moss to the top and place your faux succulent into the foam.
Add Spanish moss to the top and place your faux succulent into the foam.
So pretty and last forever!
For the second idea, we will use a white pumpkin; however, you can use any color.
You will need thumbtacks or upholstery tacks.
Place the thumbtacks along the ribs of the pumpkin or make your own design using the thumbtacks.
White never looked so good!
For the third idea, we are going to make a cross stitch monogram.
Remove the bottom of the pumpkin by punching holes using a screwdriver. Using a utility knife, cut into the foam, from hole to hole.
Remove the bottom.
Using the first letter of your last name, print a capital letter onto printer paper.
I used the font "Al Nile" and increased the font to 228.
I copied the letter onto graph paper. I marked every other square as that is where holes will be poked into the pumpkin.
Tape the letter onto the front of the pumpkin and poke holes into the pumpkin using a small screwdriver.
After the holes have been made, using a heavy thread, begin to sew the monogram.
Begin at the top, left corner and sew diagonally. When you come to the bottom of the letter, sew up the other side making crosses as you continue.
Monograms are so popular and this one is no exception!
The final pumpkin is cloth.
Chose any type of material.
Cut a rectangle.
Fold in half and sew or glue the edges together.
Sew a running stitch along the bottom of the rectangle.
Pull the ends of the thread and gather the material. Tie a knot to close.
Turn the material right side out.
Stuff with poly fill.
Close the top with a running stitch.
Pull the ends of the thread together, gathering the material.
Knot closed.
Using heavy thread, twine, or embrodiery floss, wrap around the pumpkin as you would wrap ribbon around a gift. This will form the ribs.
Hot glue a small piece of wood to the top for a stem.

Using any color material, you can create pumpkins to match every room in your home!
