I’m a bit crazy when it comes to things that don't have a place. So I’m always working on storage. I love to declutter but as a new mom, I’ve found my 6 year old is an “extreme hoarder” lol she throws nothing away. She makes decluttering so much harder.

We recently moved to a fixer upper and this was one of my to do’s. I knew my budget had to be a bit higher then normal but it was worth it.

I have a closet in my office space that I decided to redo, giving “MY LITTLE hoarder” a place to store her “valuables.” Now......... I know it make not look like this for more than maybe 2 days.... but we will work on that. :)

Hope you enjoy what I did and hope you find it helpful. If you try it.. Share it! :) love to see everyone's take.

This is what my closet looked like it was a pole and a wood shelve on the top .
Went to my local HomeDepot and purchased a few ClosetMaid items. - 1 box of thier Selectives 25 in. Starter Kit closet organizer - 4 Selectives Shelf Support Kits and - 2 Selectives 48 in. Top Shelf sheets. . I also bought 16 $1 plastic bins at my local BigLots.
I put together the closet organizer by following the instructions. Placed the shelves and cut the 2 sheets into 4 shelves.
then I started the sorting
The bedroom she created at the bottom was the best part... LOL icon icon
I left the poles on one side for the future.

Your young one might be so inspired she doesn't ever let it get unorganized again!

Very, very good job. When you have time, you could label each storage box with what should go in there. At six, she will be reading soon, if not already. If she is allowed to pull the boxes out by herself, I would put the lightest on top, putting the heavier boxes near the bottom. And I would set a rule: only 3 boxes at a time. And with that: What comes out, must go back in, before you may _______. And be consistent in enforcement. The blank may change. 😇
