I gave this chair a makeover using fabric markers, it was easy and fun to do! Check out how I did it below:
This was the chair before. This chair even though we have had for more than 20 years, it's in perfect shape. All it needed was a little cleaning before I got to work, which I did using Resolve.
I then proceeded to use a fabric marker to draw the lines. What made it easier in this particular case, was that the fabric already had a pattern which helped me follow the lines. It was fun to do!
I made a different design when I flipped the cushion just for the fun of it. So now it has a reversible cushion.
But I like it simpler so I flipped it back and added a hand-painted pillow.
And I drew more designs in a plain pillow I had in my bedroom. I can choose to use either pillow. These markers are so much fun and easy to use!!!

I hope you like my idea and give it a try yourself!

You have some serious skill. Has anyone tried the fabric paints(and if so, which ones)RECENTLY and got good results after painting the whole piece, as evidenced by: soft fabric which didn’t crack or anything a few months later? I’ve heard it looks good but doesn’t last or that it’s scratchy etc., but this artistic work looks outstanding.

I see the Hometalk recommendations; but what paints did YOU use to achieve this effect? Please tell us😬 and btw you said the design was already on there but you, girl can’t really see in yourself what and how you see that some (like me) can’t see. You saw a design in that design where most wouldn’t have thought to do that. You definitely have the eye. Please tell us which brands fabric paint. Thx!
