How to Paint Wood Paneling - No Sanding Required

When we bought our house we had a room that had several walls of old/ugly wood paneling. I knew tearing it down would be way too expensive and a bigger project than I could take on with a new baby at home in the winter. So we opted to paint it instead! I didn't want to sand it since we couldn't open windows and it would have been a HUGE mess. So I figured out a way to do it with NO SANDING! However, if you have a glossy finish on your wood paneling, you would probably want to lightly sand before applying the primer.

Reposhture Studio - Kim on Mar 17, 2014We, too, had dark paneling in our first house and dark, dark trim since the house was 100+ years old. We painted ours a sunny, pale yellow and loved it! It was also the rough kind of paneling so the grain really looked good once painted. You can not believe how the trim popped then once there was some contrast! Love that you painted it white. So lovely and highlights the wood tones so deliciously.
