Make a beautiful Christmas Wreath on a budget. No one will believe that all of the supplies came from the Dollar Tree!

Dollar Stores sure have come a long way since I was a kid. I remember the floral picks and Christmas ornaments back in the 70's, and they were UGLY. Everything was cheap plastic.

Now, you can go to the Dollar Store and find supplies that look like they're from Pottary Barn or Pier One. There's beautiful foil and glitter. No more bare plastic!
Gather your supplies. I bought two Christmas Wreaths, because they were thin. I wired them together, so give the wreath some fullness.

Supply List

I found all of my supplies at the Dollar Tree. If you don't have a Dollar Tree near you, I'm sure your local dollar store will have something similar.

  • Two 18" wreaths
  • Two Gold Reindeer Christmas Ornaments
  • One Poinsettia floral pick
  • One gold glitter foil pick
  • One bow or ribbon to make a bow.
  • Floral wire or gold tinsel pipe cleaners
  • Glue Gun
The selection at the Dollar Tree is amazing! I had a hard time deciding which ornaments I wanted on my wreath. There was lots of glitter, flocking, beading, and foil to add details to the ornaments.

The total cost for supplies for this project is only $6.00. It would be a fun project for a group like 4-Hers or Scouts.
Isn't that reindeer handsome? He was available in 3 colors. I chose red and gold ribbon, red poinsettias, and gold glitter berries to match.

Instructions

  1. If your wreath is thin, like mine was, wire 2 together to make it fuller.
  2. Wire the ornaments onto the wreath using floral wire or tinsel pipe cleaners. You can find them in the kids craft section at the dollar store.
  3. Add the bow and weave the ribbon through the wreath.
  4. Cut the floral picks apart, so the stems are about 3" long.
  5. Using a hot glue gun, adhere all of the floral picks to the wreath, filling in any bare spots and spreading them out evenly.
Here's the finished project! Can you believe this only cost $6.00 to make? Not only was it inexpensive, but it was also quick. I assembled it in about 15 minutes.
I hope you enjoy this project. I loved making it, and since I had such a hard time choosing the supplies, I might be making more soon!

I live in Florida, and wondered if anyone has made this wreath, sprayed it with "snow", and hung it outdoors. Does the "snow" yellow?

If I were to make this, and spray the wreath with canned "snow", would the snow yellow outdoors?

Beautiful project. What kind of set up / camera did you use to film your video? It's great that we could hear you and see you working on your wreath without obstruction.

    Thank you for sharing!
