Hi Hometalk! In planning my Halloween party, I found so much inspiration from projects that I saw here- thank you Hometalk community! Here's how it all came together...I knew I wanted some spooky decor with a side of good humor!
Walking home one evening I came across MANY of these cardboard pieces being thrown out, and I knew I needed them. I couldn't take all of them, but I took what I could!
Tombstones! You got it! The first thing I did was using an X-acto knife, I cut the cardboard pieces into different sized stones. Then, I began to paint them a stone gray. I did not plan for this properly, and did not have gray paint on hand. So I mixed what I had together, and hoped for the best! I think it looks great!
I also used a sponge to apply the paint on a few of them, which gave them a nice stone look! Once they were painted fully, I left them to dry overnight.
Once they were dry, using a permanent marker, I carved (kidding I wrote) the messages I saw fit and they make me laugh!
Another small project I created for my party decor involved these Hallow-tastic candles and some recycled wine bottles!
First step was to place the candles into the wine bottles at varying heights.
Then, using crayons, I melted orange, green, and black 'candle drippings' all down the bottles.
They look awesome!!
Here they are waiting to be lit...
I had a blast setting up for my party! I hope you enjoyed taking a look at some of my Halloween DIY's!
