Create a joyful display of thankfulness and appreciation this season with the Fall Gratitude Sign. It will also work as a wonderful reminder of ‘giving thanks’ all year round. This sweet sign was created by Mary Childs of Focal Points.
  • Wood Cut – find at your local craft store
  • Pencil and Tape
  • Small Artist Brushes and 1″ Brush
  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Feathers and Floral Spray Accessories
First, brush a layer of acrylic bonding primer onto the wood and allow to dry. You can use a quality primer such as Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3® for this step.

Next, apply 2 – 3 layers of Modern Masters Copper Metallic Paint until fully opaque, allowing each layer to dry.
Next, tape the transfer paper (dark side down) to the wood cut. Place the Give Thanks image (face up) on top of the transfer paper and tape it to the wood cut. The is from the Jenna Sue Design Co.
Now you can use a pencil to trace the lettering and remove both sheets when you are done tracing.

Use the Black Glazing Cream Color and a small 1/8″ artist brush to paint in the letters and details. You can also use a wide tip black marker to draw in the letters to make it easier.
Decide on the best arrangement of your feathers and floral spray on the back of the woodcut. Attach these to the back with the hot glue gun, ensuring they are attached well. Let dry thoroughly.

Very nice! We don't really celebrate Thanksgiving in Quebec, but I am inspired for other hollidays. Thank you!
