3 BEAUTIFUL BIRDBATH PLANTERS

I love birdbath planters and have a couple in my garden. A birdbath planter brings small scales plants closer where you can really appreciate the subtle beauty of some of the plants.
I have three examples of birdbath planters in this post. One from my own garden, one from a private garden in Mississauga, Ontario and also one from a private garden in Toronto, Ontario.

This is at the front of a really nice private garden. There is a mix of hosta and Creeping Jenny. See more: http://threedogsinagarden.blogspot.ca/2013/02/a-school-teachers-pretty-front-garden.html
This has nothing to do with a birdbath planter, but I can't resist showing it because it is a pretty area of the garden in Toronto that has the birdbath planter.
This birdbath is in a shaded area.
I love the way these dark pebbles set of the fresh green of the ferns. You can find something similar at the dollar store.
This is Creeping Jenny which can be an aggressive spreader, but in a planter like this it can only go so far!
Small ferns, and there are many you can choose from, are a great option for shade.

The little bird is cast iron. The mushrooms I have seen at the dollar store.

I have a birdbath that I would love to try some of these ideas but I worry that it isn't deep enough. It is only about 2 in. deep.

@Eileen You should be fine with the 2" birdbath, but you should check out my blog post with detailed instructions to make sure you have good drainage and enough soil for your plants.
