I am a new home owner, and while looking for our home (we live very close to the water) I promised myself I'd never let the green algea, mold stuff grow on my home.
Fast forward a year and a half, we now have the stuff growing on the house, hubby was ready to go spend money on a high tech pressure washer, but in my opinion its not logical so close to Christmas.
So today I set out to scrub it away (there's not a whole lot of it, so I might not recommend if you have a large house)

Gallon bucket
1/4th cup borax
1/4th cup dish soap
1/4th cup bleach
Hot water
Old towel

before
Mix the borax, bleach, dish soap and hot water in your bucket.
Before
Start at the top of the dirty area and dunk brush in solution get it nice and wet, scrub across the siding then go down, across again then down, working across then down a row. Make sure your brush stays wet.
After
wipe clean with the old towel. You could rinse with a hose, but the area that I was working on the hose does not reach.
This takes the green stuff right off, just be careful around plants!

    Shestuds...which one did you buy?

Borrowed a heavy duty gas one from a friend and it was too hard for me to use?

    Thanks!

Wow, the result is great. But still, you don't think that the pressure washer will be more effective and will help you to clean your house easier? A year ago, I was also against to spend money for a pressure washer, but my husband was very insistent. It took so long time to wash his car, so he wanted a good electrical pressure washer. I decided that we should buy a great device that would be suitable for washing cars and for more hard-duty cleaning in the house. We were lucky to find an article that helped a lot. There is a great buyer’s guide, and good reviews about, to my mind, the best pressure washers in this article. It helped us not only choose electrical pressure washer, but also buy it easy because there was a direct link to Amazon. So, I recommend you read this article before buying electrical pressure washer.
