This may be a 'duh' tip for many of you, but I truly didn't realize this would save so much time until I learned it myself. Clean the top of your rooms first: ceiling fans and light fixtures, and then move your way down ending with baseboards and floors. That way, the dirt only falls downward and you aren't re-cleaning areas. The printable spring cleaning calendar is organized top to bottom to take advantage of this tip!
Here's how to get your towels and blankets fresh and clean... naturally! A cup of vinegar acts as a fabric softener and also gets your whites brighter. Baking Soda sprinkled on top of your towel load takes away the 'stinky towel' smell.
Got dirty grout? Get out the grime by sprinkling the grout with baking soda, and then spritzing vinegar on top. Let it sit a minute, and then scrub with a stiff brush. The dirt magically disappears with VERY little effort!
Don't let the dust from your ceiling fan get all over your home! Slide a pillow case over each blade, and wipe the blade. Dust falls into the pillowcase and NOT on your head.
Auto-cleaning your oven actually decreases it's lifespan because of the high heat. There's a bunch of oven and stovetop tips based on what you need to clean here: http://makinglemonadeblog.com/31-quick-spring-cleaning-tips-tricks-strategies/
After a long winter, yucky germs are everywhere. Pay special attention to areas that come into contact with germs-- I wipe remotes, phones, and doorknobs with Lysol wipes. You can also hit your bathroom and kitchen fixtures with a steam cleaner to safely and naturally banish germs.
Really, these are the only cleaning products you need. They'll safely clean everything from sinks to fridges to toilets and tubs. Make a 'sink bomb' with the baking soda and vinegar, or an AMAZING tub spray with equal parts Dawn and vinegar in a spray bottle-- simply spray, let sit an hour, and wipe away!
