Before and After: Painted Dining Table Top to Refinished Natural Wood!

by Laura
I loved my dining room table and chairs, but the painted table top started showing obvious wear over the years. Any heat started to make hazy permanent marks on the black paint. I decided I had to fix it!
Before. Paint was great, but started to wear!
Once the table started showing obvious wear, I decided to strip and restain my table.
Marks just from coffee cups!
Using Citristrip to remove the paint.
The stripped table, ready for stain!
Adding a beautiful, rich walnut stain to the table. This step was actually a lot easier than I expected.
The finished product... so happy with the result! No more coffee cup rings. :) If you'd like to see more details on how I refinished my table, check out my blog at www.practicallyrevived.com.

I have an old round/to oblong maple table. We would like to use the big pedestal on the bottom to keep mom's table but I want a new rectangle top for it. Got any ideas? Marsha
