If you missed part one,
In part two, I’ll show you three more resolutions for your home.
1. Reduce Your Carbon Footprint. Everyone is always talking about your “carbon footprint” but what does that really mean? Basically, you want to reduce waste and here are four simple ideas to make your footprint smaller.
Use Cold Water in the Laundry 90% of the energy consumed by a washing machine goes to heating water. That’s huge!! If you purchase detergent that is made for cold water, you can be assured your wash will be clean.
Composting In 2016, more than 38 million tons of food waste was generated, with only 5.1 percent diverted from landfills and incinerators for composting. So when you throw that banana peel away, don’t throw it in the trash, compost it!
Donating Place a basket/box in your closet. Something doesn’t fit anymore? Put it in the basket/box. When the basket is full, drop it off at donation bin which are literally everywhere.
Cloth vs. Paper Instead of buying paper towels & paper napkins, switch to cloth. Instead of paper plates, use china plates. The cost savings will surprise you.
2. Less Stress - Do you have a cleaning schedule on a calendar for each day of the week and each month of the year? By using this simple idea, you be assured your house is happy.
3. Self Care Do you really love your home? Do you look forward to coming home every night? No? Here are two ideas to help you love the home you’re in.
Keep Your Tools Working Properly The hardest working tool in your home is your vacuum & if it’s not clean, neither is your home. Take a few minutes once a month to properly clean your vacuum. Don’t forget to change the filters too.
Decorate With Things You Love Is it antiques, family photos, or your bug collection that brings you joy? Fill your home with things that you love seeing every day.
