Painting straight ceiling lines can be a bear.Especially if you've got a white ceiling and a bold colored wall, say orange.Last weekend I had to paint a ceiling white. So I decided to shoot a video, take some pictures and share my tips. If you've got a painting project in your future you should at least see what supplies will help you master your endeavor.Cheers,Jeff
Learn how to paint straight ceiling lines by hand
Use a Purdy ClearCUT brush
Grab a Purdy jumbo mini roller too, you'll need it!!!
Add some White Dove lint-free rollers to the mix to reduce lint on your ceiling or walls.
Use a wire grid and 2 gallon bucket instead of a tray
Dip your brush about 1 inch into the paint
Brush on your paint using the edge of the brush, all the ends of the bristles should make contact with the wall. Brush on a 2 to 3 foot section then back brush over it (the video shows you how to do this)
After brushing on 2 to 3 feet of paint roll on a coat with your roller.
Rinse off your brush with water and use Press N Seal to preserve it. You can learn more by clicking on my link below.

A professional painter showed me how ....first a really good 2"angle brush, then start about 1/4 " away from edge works every time for me paint goes to edge and I have a straight line.

I was taught the exact same way as described and it really does work. I tweaked it just a tad, though. I like to use the mini roller first then all I have to cut in is the tiny strip left, for me, its always less than an inch wide. If you have bifocal/trifocals that would make it more of a challenge...think "reading glasses".
