Make awesome photo backgrounds for mid to small size items. They look like real wood! You can use contact paper or even scrapbook paper. (Contact being the easiest Ü) (I have direct links to some of the items on Amazon on my full site post if you go there.) SEE ALL PHOTOS HERE
I will tell you right now.... Contact Paper is the way to go if you want to do it the quickest. (We've linked to some cheaper one's on our real site post so click the site link at the very bottom to see those.)
Have someone helping you makes a HUGE difference. After you've measured your contact paper, have someone hold the roll while you slowly peel back a couple of inches at a time.
Align the stick paper, pressing well as you go so you get no bubbles.
You can use scrapbook paper but in order to make it not have obvious lines you need to cut the 12x12 sheets in obvious even spots if you can as shown.
You then spray them with spray adhesive and stagger them on the board.

Cut off the ends that overlap. You can cover both sides!
Get your lighting and you're ready to go!
It's amazing how realistic the wood is. SEE THE REST OF OUR PHOTOS HERE
