Like to celebrate Valentines Day but hate the commercialization? The waste? Why not create a stylish bright pompom valentine wreath to brighten up your décor, using what you have. There’s no need to spend out, be creative instead. Use fabric scraps, plus the odds and ends of yarn to create a fun variety of wool and fabric pompoms. The finished wreath is perfect for indoor décor or hang it on your door to welcome guests.
Collect a variety of materials, pinks and red fabrics, odds and ends of wool. For the base of the wreath you will need some stiff cardboard.
Start by creating the base, draw a heart and cut out- the framed need to be approximately 1 1/2” across.
Wrap the frame with strips of fabric until the cardboard is fully covered. Glue the fabric in place. Attach a hanging mechanism to the base of the v - I used a paper clip which happily hangs on a nail (for more details visit the blog tutorial).
Using pompom makers create a variety of pom-poms from wool and strips of fabric. Consider making some on a variety of colours, others in one colour. If you have not made pom-poms before click through to the blog to find out more.
Arrange your pom-poms. Once you are happy with the balance of shapes and colours use a glue gun to attach to the frame.
