I completed and share this project as part of a Makers Heart Attack on Instagram.. It was so much fun and you can learn more about it on my website, Hazel + Gold Designs.
Create a frame out of scrap wood (or, you can recycle a frame you already have on hand).
Stain wood pieces different colors. The trick to this is on my site. These will later be used to create the heart shape
Lay out the pieces to figure out how you want them arranged.
Try different arrangements. You could do a random pattern like I did above or a striped arrangement like I did here. Or you could choose something else entirely!
Once decided, glue the pieces to the framed backing.
And there you have it. A beautiful wooden piece of artwork to decorate your home for Valentine's Day or really any day of the year (change up the shape and the colors and your options are endless!)

Very cool idea, 3-4 diff colors would look cool too. Great idea, thank you!

I’m a wood loving woman myself! Lol. My late father had his own timber company so it comes naturally to me. This project is beautiful and the fact that you showed the wood grain is right down my alley! Thanks for the inspiration! Great job!
