You don't have to spend a ton of money to makeover your closet. See how to use things you already have, or pick up a few items at a thrift store, to create a pretty and organized space.
Does your closet look like this? Messy, chaotic, hard to ever find anything to wear?

Back in my days as a professional organizer, I implemented a few simple solutions to help get this closet in order. Here are some easy things you can do in your own closet to get more organized.
First, we moved a dresser into the closet. We could do this because the owner was not short on hanging space.

With a dresser in the closet, you have everything you need to get dressed within easy reach. It will make your mornings much more efficient.
Next, we cleared up the floor space by adding storage space for shoes.

Even if you're not a "shoe person," I bet you have more pairs than you realize. Keeping your shoes contained will help keep your closet space more organized. We used open boxes, but there are lots of options to choose from.

See the tray on top? We snagged that from another part of the house, and used it to contain things like deodorant and shoe polish. Pretty, and handy.
Now, this is my favorite thrifty organizing tip. Instead of using all matching storage boxes, used coordinated storage. These are some items I was lucky to find at a thrift store.

If you're not feeling lucky, or patient enough to do the thrift store hunt, there are lots of pretty storage boxes available online. Choose a theme, or colors that make you happy.

The different storage pieces are pretty, and add a little more interest to the closet. But even better, if you ever need to add more storage later, you don't have to try to find a perfect match for something you already have. You can just get something else that coordinates.
And with those simple and inexpensive tips, you can have a pretty and organized closet.
