I don't like fake smelling air fresheners, so I used natural essential oils to make this easy air freshener.
This project is very easy to make. You'll need a few things though.
  • small mason jar
  • lid inserts

These inserts are important in making these. They let the scent get into the air and the odors to be absorbed from
The first thing to do is to fill your small jar with half of a cup of baking soda.

Baking soda naturally absorbs odors.

Most air fresheners just mask odors, but baking soda actually eliminates them!

Then add essential oils. I used a Happiness blend, but you can use one or more oils. I have some suggestions for essential oil blends on my blog.
Then you'll add your lid.

It's important to have a lid with holes of some type so the odors can make their way into the jar to get absorbed. This also lets the smell of the essential oils go into the room.
I used these adorable wood inserts.

If you don't use them, you'll have to punch holes in a mason jar lid. I have done that before, and it's time consuming. This makes it so much easier!

When it starts to lose its scent, just give it a good stir and the scent will come back.
Suggested materials:
  • Mason jar
  • Wood insert

Super tip! I use a small spray bottle and fill it with vodka and about 10 to 20 drops of essential oils. I like to mix Gardenia and Lavender. I spray clothing and shoes I sell on Ebay with it right before I ship them out. Also use it as a room spray. Will definitely try your tip and check out your blog.
