Mother's Day Curly Paper Hyacinths
Real flowers and plants are always fabulous to have in your home especially during the holidays and special occasions. But if you're tired of them not lasting or are too costly to keep on a regular basis then making these spring curly paper hyacinths just may be a solution. And what a wonderful way to make these with your child or grandchild for that awesome Mother's Day gift.
The basic paper hyacinth flower is so easy to make. You only need colorful paper, scissors, skewer sticks and tacky glue.
Just cut narrow strips on 2 1/2 inch wide paper, leaving a small border.
Curl strips with a wooden skewer.
Glue curled paper end onto skewer and wrap around, gluing as you wrap to the end.
Cover stick with floral tape for stems.
Free hand cut out leaves from foam sheets placed on iron plate to curl and glued to stems.
Tuck hyacinth stems in floral foam and place in a favorite container, topped with dry moss.

looking at your photo, i really thought the green leaves were
rubber gloves, which i feel would not be a bad idea anyway.
i truly liked you effort and think i will give it a go for my
mother in law, just because.
your design caught my eye mainly because i enjoy quilling,
interesting twist on that.
