6 months ago, now retired, I bought a fixer which is part 1963 trailer and large part stick built on a property with "glourious" views. The thin hallway that is between the two was dark and depressing and here's the simple steps I did to give it appeal.
Looking into hallway before, with carpet. Even my big boy Marlon was wondering what we got into.
First job was pulling up "nasty" carpet and padding. Not too hard but do wear a face mask or will be coughing for days. The carpet tack boards came up with a hammer and flat head screwdriver. As did the molding.
After scrubbing walls, painted walls with white oops Behr paint. Started putting down Traffic Masters Seashore Wood Peel & Stick tiles from Home Depot. When pattern was set just peeled backing, placed snuggly together, cut to fit indentations. A truely "fantastic" product, even over old cleaned plastic tiles. Molding back down.
Has a little counter area.
A little area with thrift store favorite finds, Wright pink dust power bowl, mid-century lamp and a pretty mirrow.
Found 2 ceiling lamps, (others n bathroom) at weekend Corner flea market. Added sliding plastic door for privacy and insulation, tiny screws, ugg. This project like the rest of the property was done in little steps. The rug, tackboatd, painting, floor and misc. All and all very Happy how this once depressing now "Revived" lean Hallway turned out.
