Okay the IKEA Billy shoe shelfs are great but expensive so I took the $27 mainstays bookshelf from Walmart and made them look just as fab as the IKEA shelves ... take a look. Also I have upgraded this closet several times so I will provide all the links for you ... you will get to see where I started to where I finished up. Whew! So lets get started.
So I purchased 5 of these simple yet gorgeous mainstays 5 rack bookcase from walmart at $27.00 each.
And they were just what I wanted but, I felt it had a lot of waisted space that could be utilized.
like here! Do you see all that extra space. And coming from a gal with lots of shoes and accesories, I just knew it could be more useful if I added extra shelves, but walmart does not provide them seperately so guess what..... I decided to make my own. I mean the holes are already there right.
So of course I went to Lowes, they are always ready and willing to cut boards for you and I carried one of the pallets and found a perfect match and they cut them to fit. Easy and free labor .... right?
The shelf pins that came with the bookshelf were already in use, so I grabed a few, you definitely will need them.
So I laid out some carboard box on the lawn that needs mowing... lol, and placed the boards down and sprayed them black with some $0.99 flat spray paint from lowes as well.
After installing them....I created amazing storage that you would not believe.....(please see video for installation details)
