DIY: Make a Terrarium

Easy
This is a great project for a quick gift, made entirely from materials you already have at home. Its a perfect DIY activity for the kids to help with, too. For the full instructions, visit http://www.lavendeandlemonade.com/2014/03/diy-make-terrarium.html
Start with a pretty empty jar, cleaned and with the label removed. Today I've used a small salsa jar; tall narrow olive jars work beautifully too.
Choose some rocks to fill the bottom...
Check out www.lavendeandlemonade for the full instructions!

For a great hostess gift try using herb cuttings in your terrarium, like basil or rosemary, which are simple to propagate.

Hi Leslie, you won't want to put the lid back onto the jar. Just leave it open and the plants will get plenty of oxygen!
