I don't know about y'all but we have a love for old doors! This is another door that has been sitting in the corner of the shop. Then one day, it hit me, no, not the door, an idea!
We decided to repurpose this door in to a Spice rack for our kitchen. We are doing a makeover of our small kitchen and this is the first of three projects that will give
the space a whole new look. Click over to the blog and check out how we gave new life to this old weathered door:)
Old Weathered Door Turned Spice Rack
Old Weathered Door Spice Rack
The old door that we used to build the spice rack.
Here, Honey is just laying boards on the back to see exactly how we are going to hang it on the wall. Honey has a plan, now!
We are putting nailer boards at the top and bottom.
Now, we screw the two sides to the wall and with the boards in the previous pictures at the top and bottom, it should just snap together!
And, snap together it does!!
Now it's time to add a back and shelves. We chose to use old ceiling boards that we have. They came out of the old Roff Lumber Yard. Let me tell you, they are old but when cleaned, sanded and sealed with a marine grade sealer, they are beautiful!
Shelf for the top.
