Thanks, I guess I'll have to leave it up to my husband where he wants to dig.

I had lilacs at other houses and I love them. Husband doesn't (boo hiss). Luckily, at this house my neighbor has one right outside my 4-season room! Over the 3 years we've lived here, I've noticed her blooms are getting paler and paler to where they are almost white this year. Is there something (like with hydrangeas) that would make the blooms a richer lilac color?
