Have you ever upcycled a tin can? I don’t eat canned food often but happened to make salmon patties not too long ago. I figured this was my chance to see what I could do with the can.
I decided to see how it would look if I covered it with jute and cotton twine.  Start off by tracing the bottom on a piece of fabric to cover the bottom.  Glue it to the bottom of the can.  I did mine after the fact by doing it this way the next step will hide the raw edge.
Take the cotton and jute twine and tie them together.  Starting at the bottom hot glue the twines to the can, making sure the knot can be cut off later.
Wrap the twines around the can, gluing it every so often.  I used a Popsicle stick to push the twine down as it was wrapped around the can. Once I reached the top I continued to wrap to cover the edge of the can.  After that, I used Mod Podge to cover the can to make sure the twine would be secure.
This is certainly an easy project that looks so high end.  Not only can you use it as a vase but it makes a good pencil holder also.
