60 Second Basket Wreath On A Budget

Are you the type of person who sees those beautiful spring/summer wreaths hanging up in the store, and your jaw drops at the price tag?! Me too!

Are you the type of person who doesn't want to spend time making a wreath? Me too!

If you answered yes to both of those questions, then I promise this project is for you! I even added a spin on this wreath, and used a basket!
Materials:
  • Basket
  • Rope (If basket did not come with handle)
  • Floral Stems
  • Wire Snips or Pliers
  • Command Hooks
The first step and really the only step is cutting your floral stems to length so they sit in your basket nicely. Start out by cutting them longer than you think you need them. You can always cut them shorter, but if you start off by cutting them too short, you're all out of luck Chuck!
Then just arrange them neatly in your basket!
The next step and probably the hardest part of this whole project (I kid, none of this project was hard) is hanging your command strip on your door so you can hang your basket.

Start by applying the side of the adhesive strip that is meant for the command hook on the back of your hook.
Then apply the other side of the adhesive strip with the command hook onto your door by applying firm pressure for a few seconds.

I love using Command Hooks because they are so easy to remove and don't leave any evidence that they were there! I always pick up the clear ones so they're not as noticeable.
If your basket came with a handle already, you're in good business. If it didn't, just cut a rope of your choosing and tie to the sides of the basket to hang.
I opted to only use 3 floral stems in my basket because I wanted a very simple basket wreath for our front porch. My total cost for this entire project was $15. You can buy this basket (affiliate) at Hobby Lobby when it is 50% off for $6.50 and my three floral stems were less than $10. My total cost for this project was $15.50 and I had it put together and hung up in less than 60 seconds!

If you carefully cut your basket in half you could make two Basket Wreaths. One for the front door and the other for your back door or you could give it to a friend. Friends always enjoy little thoughtful unexpected gifts from a friend. But I like what Debra said about hot gluing poster board or cardboard to the back to help hold your arrangement and make it look finished.

Or this 60 second Dollar Store one. A flat sided basket and some silk flowers. Five dollars. Easy to seasonally change up as well.
