Mason Jar Light

Stephanie Daft Parker
by Stephanie Daft Parker
found a light fixture that would be great for my friend's dining room that she is re-doing, however brass wasn't apart of her decor, so with a can a paint and a case of mason jars this is how it turned out. I love it, wish i could find a place in my house for one like it, but i will just have to love it from afar. For only 5.00 for the fixture from a buy/sell/trade site and mason jars and paint on hand....can't get much better than that!

You can buy chicken wire and change the top so you don't have to make a hole in the base (It's called galvanized hardware cloth mesh buy it at HD) or buy already made on line it's called a floral frog lid

BRILLIANT!!! I have read countless Mason jar lighting instructionals for DIYers and have only read that they recommend creating these super snug holes that require tedious and time consuming work with making holes with nails in the lid then following with pliers....OR using LED bulbs. Your suggestion is just SO one of the "slap myself in the forehead - WHY didn't I think if that?!?" moments!!!
