Hello all !!! So I decided to make my neighbor who just had another baby boy a growth chart and letter display . It was easier then I initially thought ! I’ve always wanted to give it a try . So here was my opportunity .
I bought 6ft x 8in finished pine
& start my measurements I marked
3 inch lines for every 12 inches
2 inch lines for every 6 inches
1 inch lines for every inch
I then used my router to make the notches in the wood .
I blew out the dust and wiped down the board . Then used a small paint brush to get the lines and sanded it down after it dried .
I used a brush again to get in between the notches and wiped it well .
I then continued to stain the rest of the board .
I added some wood numbers i got from Walmart . I stained them and glued them on .
It was way easier then I thought like I said & it looks amazing !!! I should’ve did this years ago !!! I will be making more for my children’s room !!!
I painted the small letters I bought from Walmart . With some paint I had from another project . I let them dry .

Then put the glue on the back off them and pressed firmly on the large letters . That I had also stained a different color. I wanted them to match the growth chart .
The letter O was difficult to line up the letters but I did the best I could .
the H was a piece of cake
I love how they all turned out and can’t wait to give it to them !
