I am sure you all probably have seen this done a million times. But I just did mine and love how it came out. It just added a little something that I thought it was lacking. So I wanted to share.
This is a before photo. Just plain boring cream color paint.
Another before photo.
I really wanted to do peel and stick tile. I found one I loved about six months ago. When I finally went to get it they no longer carried it. 😪.
So I happened to be shopping and came across this peel and stick shiplap design. I thought the color was pretty close to my counter top so I thought I would try it.
I love shiplap by the way. I'm a very beachy person so I felt this would work if color coordinated with the counters.
It ended up it matched very well.
Even better was the price. Only 1.99 a roll. I used 2+ rolls. Win win for me.
By the way, this photo is showing you the peel and stick on our island counter. The counter by the sink is lighter in color.
This is the first section I started with. Removed the pictures and wall plates.
Measured from window to edge of cabinet.
Unrolled the peel and stick and measured the size piece I needed.
Took a ruler to make a straight line then cut.
Started to peel back off and apply to wall. Was easy to reposition on the wall.
Put a slight slit in the area where the wall plates go. Once I put the slit in carefully cut out the area for the wall plates.
Took my hand to smooth out the entire piece.
Once in place took my little squeegee to get all the bubbles out.
One sheet down.
Used cut leftover piece to complete the bottom.

This is the next section along side of my stove. Did the same process here extending behind the stove. This section completely finished.
Finished with a piece behind the stove.
This is the last bottom section to complete.
Last bottom section completed.
Moving onto the top now. Completed photo later. No outlets to contend with here.
Finished photo of the first section I started with.
Finished photo next to stove.
Finished section behind stove and to the left.
This is the completed section above and around the window.
The peel and stick was a very close match to the counter top. The photos show different, probably because of lighting.
But now I have that little something I thought it needed.
I didn't think anyone would notice, but as soon as they come in they do and really like it.
Now, I just saw two more peel and sticks I want to get for our bathroom and guest bedroom.
The projects never end. Can't blame anyone but myself for that. I just love redoing or recreating.

    Nice.

I do have 2 questions, though.

1)How long has this been up?

2)How is this holding up with the heat from the stove?

    Thank you.
