The kitchen in my mom's new condo left much to be desired when she moved in. So we came up with a plan to give it a cosmetic upgrade without renovating the entire kitchen.

Here's a picture of the space when she moved in...
The dark brown cabinets, black granite, and blue backsplash weren't doing this space any favors.
We had the kitchen cabinets painted a medium gray, added a white subway tile backsplash, and swapped out the countertops for white quartz ones.
New brass hardware, upgraded pendants, and open shelving really helped to bring the space to life.
Wood is always a good idea to add some texture and warmth to a primarily white space. These open shelves were the perfect touch for some added function and style.
We are now in love with this room, and it was much more cost effective than renovating the entire thing. Just goes to show that you can make a space more your own without spending an arm and a leg on a major renovation.

You posted the cost of the project as $2000.

I am wondering if that included the new countertop/w/sink and the island countertop? What is the material of the new white countertop?
