Jewelry Armoire Makeover

I purchased this jewelry armoire from our local thrift shop but not for jewelry

This had so many uses … I thought I would use it for my sewing notions instead of jewelry

Sorry I didn't do a step-by-step tutorial but pictures say it all.

I went to my local glass & mirror shop and ordered mirrors to fit the drawer fronts. I think I paid $6.00 for each mirror, Canada prices are so much higher than U.S.

I didn't need much paint so I just purchased "sample sized" teal blue paint $6.00 from Lowes …. here is DIY Chalk Pain recipe I found on Pinterest

  • 1 Part Plaster of Paris
  • 3 Parts Latex Paint
  • Water
  • I added Carrie's Blog "Making Lemonade" I found on Pinterest if you want to try making chalk paint … it's very expensive in Canada

Had mirrors cut to fit drawer fronts, glued the mirror with No-More-Nails,

I placed a heavy object on top of the mirror til the glue set, added some glass knobs with Bull Dog Glue and wallpapered the sides of the drawers.

So glamorous and it serves well for all my sewing notions

and my necklaces I hang on the side doors that open

Love it, turned out really nice. I’m going to use chalk paint on my armoire also, just bought some moss green chalk paint, it’s a beautiful soft color, I think it will look great, not sure what else I will do with it yet , guess I will figure it out as I go!
