DIY Faux Map Wallpaper

I wanted to add some character and interest inside my boys' closet but I was not ready to commit to permanent wallpaper... I came up with this cheap, easy, quick way to get the look I wanted with this DIY Faux Map Wallpaper.
The finished product!
I used some maps from old atlases picked up at a thrift store/used book shop - and simple brass/gold finish push pins.
I cut the maps from the atlases right to the edges so you don't see the extra bits of page around them... then layered and overlapped them randomly to make them fit.
I did the whole back wall of their closet with the maps....
The finished look of the faux map wallpaper looks great with my son's newly painted dresser...

Great idea of to where to get maps, didn't think of that! Love how easy it is to take down!

    The maps are real.

    The 'wallpaper' is not real.

Title of the project should read Maps Faux Wallpaper, not Faux Maps Wallpaper.
